For Families Building Something Durable

Estate & Legacy Planning

The strategies, documents, and structures that protect your family, minimize tax, and carry your intentions forward — coordinated with the rest of your VFC plan and revisited as life and law evolve.

Plan Now. Protect Later.

Your estate plan is only as strong as the day you last reviewed it.

Most estate plans are written once, signed once, and then forgotten — often for decades. Lives change. Laws change. Beneficiaries change. We work with you (and your attorney) to keep your plan current, coordinated, and capable of actually doing what you want it to.

VFC consults on the structure, the strategy, and the implementation alongside your existing estate attorney — bringing the rest of your financial picture into the conversation so the documents serve your real plan.

The Documents and Structures That Protect Your Family

Wills & Trusts

Foundational documents — wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, healthcare directives, powers of attorney — coordinated with vetted estate attorneys.

Beneficiary Strategy

Confirming every account, policy, and retirement plan is titled and directed correctly — a frequently-overlooked area where the document and the designation don’t agree.

Trustee & Fiduciary Selection

Selecting the right people, professionals, and structures to administer your plan after you’re gone — and protecting your family from the wrong ones.

Estate Tax Planning

Federal and state estate tax mitigation — exemption use, gifting strategy, valuation discounts — for households where the dollars actually matter.

Legacy & Transfer

Moving Wealth — and Values — Across Generations

Wealth Transfer Strategy

Gifting strategy, irrevocable trusts, valuation discounts, and the structures that move wealth tax-efficiently between generations — well before the IRS rules change again.

Charitable & Philanthropic Planning

Donor-advised funds, charitable trusts, private foundations, and the strategies that align your values with your tax picture.

Multi-Generational Planning

Strategies and education that prepare the next generation to inherit wealth — and the responsibility that comes with it.

Family Governance & Education

Family mission, decision-making frameworks, family meetings, and the education that keeps wealthy families aligned across generations.

How VFC Engages

Consultative estate planning. Coordinated with the rest of your life.

VFC isn’t your estate attorney — but we work alongside one. Our role is the strategist: connecting the documents to your investments, taxes, insurance, and business so the estate plan actually executes what you want.

How We Engage

From First Review to Multi-Generational Stewardship

Review

We inventory current documents, beneficiaries, and entities to find gaps, conflicts, and missed opportunities.

Design

We build the right transfer strategy and structures, coordinating with your attorney for documents.

Implement

We coordinate beneficiary updates, account titling, and gifting steps with your wider plan.

Steward

We re-review on a schedule because lives, laws, and beneficiaries change — and so should your plan.

Common Questions

About Estate & Legacy Planning

Do you draft the legal documents yourselves?

No — we’re consultants, not attorneys. We work with your existing estate attorney or coordinate with a vetted attorney we can refer you to. Our role is the strategy, the coordination, and making sure the documents actually fit your wider financial life.

How often should an estate plan be reviewed?

At minimum every 3–5 years, and immediately after any major life event (marriage, divorce, birth, death, sale of business, significant asset acquisition) or major tax law change.

What about asset protection?

Asset protection is most effective when installed early. We coordinate structures, coverage levels, and entity design with our Insurance Optimization team to put a moat around your household’s wealth before there’s ever a problem.

Do you work with multi-generational families?

Yes. Multi-generational planning is a core specialty — including family governance, next-gen education, and the structural work behind durable family wealth.

Leave more than money. Leave a coordinated plan.

Let’s review your estate plan with the rest of your financial life in mind.
